Getting to the Cusp

We get older and our beds get bigger.
As we just get closer or further apart,
do we tell one another
what has been or currently is in our heart?
Do we hope and long to hear an answer
to a question we withhold?
Why cry inside and water our fears?
We should sing on the outside and give voice to our hearts!
Breathing, in subtle nuances of a head placed well on a shoulder
or the gentle nudge of coming closer,
Some things can’t be seen with the eyes
Only felt through the short moments of this night
Despite the fleeting cold we still hold hands;
There is warmth beyond physical condition,
A sense that should you feel, could take you to new places
